Sunset in the Badlands National Park, South Dakota.
On-going rains, freezes and thaws have eroded the terrain, creating spectacular canyons, buttes, pinnacles, and spires. The park also contains the largest protected mixed grass-prairie in the United States � home for bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, black-footed ferrets, antelopes and deer.
